Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. baking soda
    4 or 5 c. flour (enough to make soft dough)
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Combine all dry ingredients. Combine egg, milk, buttermilk and vanilla and add to dry ingredients, a little at a time.
    Makes a soft dough.
    Roll thin, cut and bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Makes 5 to 6 dozen.
