Maid Of Honors(An English Pastry) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. milk
pie crust (can use already made or make your own)
Preparation

Make yellow cake batter.
Cream the butter and add salt and vanilla.
Gradually blend in sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift the flour, measure and sift together with the baking powder.
Add alternately with milk to the cream batter and egg mixture.
Line muffin tins with pastry circles from the crust.
Into each pastry cup, put 1/2 teaspoon preserves (apricot, raspberry, cherries, etc.), then drop in a spoonful of cake batter.
Fill so that tin is 3/4 full as for cupcakes.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven about 20 to 25 minutes until cake is done.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
