Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. white Karo syrup
    2 c. peanuts
    1/2 c. hot water
    1 tsp. butter
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine in 4-quart saucepan sugar, water and syrup; cook until it is 230\u00b0 (need a candy thermometer).
    Over medium heat, add butter or margarine.
    Cook until it is 302\u00b0.
    Remove from heat; add soda and vanilla.
    Beat until foaming reaches peak; pour into greased cookie sheet (prepared earlier) and spread thin.
    Let cool and break into pieces.
    Store in sealed coffee can.
