Chocolate Walnut Drops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. sifted brown sugar, firmly packed
    1 egg, well beaten
    2 sq. (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. nutmeats, coarsely cut
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Sift flour once; measure. Add baking soda and salt and sift together 3 times. Work butter with spoon until creamy. Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add egg. Add chocolate and blend well. Add flour alternately with milk, a small amount at a time, beating until smooth after each addition. Add nutmeats and vanilla. Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 2 dozen drops.
