Applesauce Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. plain flour
    3/4 c. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 egg, well beaten
    1 c. applesauce
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1 c. nuts, chopped
    1 c. raisins
    2 Tbsp. shortening, melted
Preparation
    Sift together dry ingredients; add nuts and raisins.
    In mixing bowl, beat eggs; add applesauce and melted shortening.
    Add dry ingredients.
    Stir just until blended.
    Pour into a greased loaf pan (8 x 4 x 4-inch).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Cool. Freezes well.
