Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    25 large cucumbers
    12 onions, sliced
    1/2 c. salt
    water
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. ginger root
    1 qt. vinegar
Preparation
    Put cucumbers in cold water until crisp.
    Wipe dry and slice. Add onion slices and salt.
    Let it sit for 1 hour.
    Add 1-quart vinegar and a little water, sugar, mustard seed, ginger root and celery seed.
    Boil all together for 5 minutes.
    Can while they are hot.
