Stifado (A "Southern" Greek Stew) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 lb. chuck (1 to 2-inch cubes)
1/4 c. butter
1 can tomato paste
12 white onions
2 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 large dash of cinnamon
6 carrots (1 to 2-inches)
6 potatoes (1 to 2-inches)
Preparation

Brown beef in butter in Dutch oven or large saucepan.
Add onions, tomato paste, water, salt, pepper and cinnamon.
Cover; boil and lower heat.
Simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours until meat is tender.
Add carrots and potatoes.
Simmer 30 to 40 minutes until vegetables are tender.
