Shrimp Creole(My Christmas Eve Dish) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. finely chopped bell pepper
    3 c. finely chopped onion (green and white)
    1/2 c. vegetable oil
    5 c. sliced okra
    4 lb. small to medium shrimp, peeled
    4 large cans whole tomatoes
Preparation
    Saute pepper and onion in oil until tender.
    Add canned tomatoes, crushing them or quartering them.
    Add sliced okra; cook until slimy (I like to use frozen okra).
    Add peeled and deveined shrimp, cooking only until pink.
    Serve over hot, cooked rice.
