Caramel Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. water
    2 c. milk
    3 eggs
    2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/8 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Caramelize 1/2 cup sugar in skillet over medium heat. Add water.
    Cook until melted. Set aside.
    Heat milk to almost boiling. Beat egg yolks with sugar, cornstarch and salt.
    Slowly pour hot milk over caramel syrup. Cook until thick.
    Add butter and vanilla.
    Pour into cooked pie shell. Add meringue and brown.
