Ruth Martin'S M-F-A Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. whole cucumbers
    4 c. vinegar
    4 Tbsp. canning salt
    4 Tbsp. alum
    6 Tbsp. pickling spice
    enough cold water to finish filling jar
    6 c. sugar
    2 c. cold water
Preparation
    Cover pickles and seal cold.
