Pear Preserves Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. allspice
    3 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. pear preserves
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs one at a time, then add vanilla and spices.
    Beat well.
    Add flour, soda and buttermilk. Mix, then add pear preserves and pecans.
    Bake in tube pan at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
