Sour Cream Cake - cooking recipe

3 c. sifted cake flour
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. soft butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 1/2 tsp. mace
6 eggs, separated
1 c. sour cream
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Sift together flour, soda and salt.
Cream butter; gradually add sugar and beat until fluffy.
Mix in lemon juice and mace.
Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well.
Stir in sour cream, add flour and beat at low speed.
Add cream of tartar to egg whites until stiff, but not dry.
Fold into batter and spoon into a greased and floured (bottom only, both) 10-inch tube pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes or until done.
Cool and remove from pan.
