Thumbprints - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. maple syrup
    1 egg, beaten
    1 1/2 c. nuts
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 stick margarine
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    2 c. flour
    1/3 c. fruit preserves
Preparation
    Mix and chill dough.
    Roll in balls and make a thumbprint in center.
    Fill with preserves.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheets 10 minutes and cool on racks.
    Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
    These cookies are not so sweet, but with they jelly they are flavorful.
