Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, separated
2 2/3 c. cake flour
3/4 c. almonds, blanched and chopped
1/2 tsp. salt
50 whole unblanched almonds
Preparation

Cream butter, add sugar, flavorings and egg yolks, one at a time.
Beat until light.
Add nuts, flour and salt; mix well. Chill, then roll into balls, about 1 inch round, dip in unbeaten egg whites and bake on greased sheets, putting 1 almond in depressed center of each ball.
Bake at 350\u00b0 about 10 minutes.
