Shoney'S Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 baked pie shell
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch, rounded
    4 Tbsp. strawberry Jell-O (one 3 oz. box makes 2 pies)
    1 c. hot water
    1 pt. fresh strawberries
    whipping cream or Cool Whip
Preparation
    Mix
    sugar, cornstarch and Jell-O.
    Add hot water.
    Mix well. Bring to a boil; stirring with a whisk until very thick and smooth.
    Set
    aside to cool.
    Place strawberries in baked pie shell.
    Pour
    cooled
    mixture
    over strawberries.
    Spread Cool Whip on pie.
    Refrigerate 2 hours.
