Snow Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    cold water
    pinch of salt
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 pt. boiling water
    2 eggs, separated
    1 c. sweet milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    lemon to flavor
Preparation
    Dissolve corn starch in a little cold water.
    Add salt and 1/4 cup sugar.
    Pur over in boiling water, stirring constantly.
    Stir in 2 egg whites, beaten stiff.
    Boil 1 minute more.
    Set in cool place to cool.
    Make a custard of the milk, beaten egg yolks and 1/2 cup sugar.
    Boil and flavor with lemon.
    Serve the custard on the snow.
