6-Week Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 tsp. soda
    2 c. boiling water
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    2 c. raisins
    1 qt. buttermilk
    4 c. flour
    4 c. all-bran
    2 c. bran flakes
    2 c. chopped dates
Preparation
    Add soda to boiling water; cool.
    Cream the shortening and sugar. Add eggs alternately with flour and soda mixture; mix well. Add rest of ingredients.
    Makes a huge amount.
    Will keep in refrigerator for 6 weeks.
    Do not stir.
    Dip out into greased muffin tins.
    Bake for about 25 minutes in a 375\u00b0 oven.
