Ingredients

3 Tbsp. margarine or butter
2 c. soft bread crumbs (4 slices bread)
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. orange juice
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
5 medium, tart cooking apples, pared and sliced
Preparation

Place margarine or butter in medium bowl; microwave, uncovered, on High for 30 to 60 seconds until melted.
Add bread crumbs; toss until well coated.
Mix remaining ingredients. Arrange half of the apple mixture in square dish (8 x 8-inch). Top with half of the bread crumb mixture.
Repeat apples and bread.
Microwave, uncovered, on High 14 to 16 minutes, rotating dish 1/2 turn every 5 minutes, until apples are tender.
