Apricot Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. plus 1 Tbsp. flour
    3/4 c. margarine or butter
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    12 oz. apricot preserves or 1 Baker apricot
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla.
    Add flour, salt and baking powder; stir in nuts.
    Put 1/2 dough into 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
    Pat down and spread apricots on top.
    Add remaining dough by spoonful and spread with fork.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
