Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. corn meal
    3 beaten eggs
    1 c. milk
    1 c. sugar (optional)
    7 Tbsp. shortening or oil
    5 c. hot water
Preparation
    Mix all in saucepan.
    Cook slowly until mixture is thick. Keep stirring until mixture has no lumps and it is evenly thickened.
    Pour into greased baking pan and dot with butter on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until brown.
    Let cool before cutting.
