Glazed Sweet Potatoes(Something Like Franke'S Cafeteria'S Candied Sweets.) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. sweet potatoes (the long, skinny variety), peeled and sliced
    3 Tbsp. margarine
    1 c. sugar, divided use
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Peel potatoes and slice 1/2-inch thick.
    Combine margarine, 1/2 cup of the sugar and water in a 12-inch frying pan.
    Boil for 1 to 2 minutes, until sugar is dissolved.
    Add potato slices to pan; stir to coat well.
    Cover and cook over medium heat for 5 to 6 minutes, until tender-crisp, stirring occasionally.
    Do not overcook.
    Add remaining 1/2 cup sugar.
    Reduce heat to low; cook, uncovered, another 4 to 5 minutes.
    Again, do not overcook.
