7-Up Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter (no substitute)
    1/2 c. shortening
    3 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. lemon
    1 scant c. 7-Up
Preparation
    Cream butter, shortening and sugar together.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Beat well.
    Add the flour slowly; then add the flavorings.
    Add 7-Up slowly to the mixture.
    Pour into well-greased and floured tube pan or into two loaf pans.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
    This cake freezes well.
