Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cupful butter
    2 cupfuls sugar
    4 eggs
    2 cupfuls flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. mace
Preparation
    Cream together butter and sugar until very light, then add egg yolks, beaten until thick and lemon-colored.
    Beat again.
    Mix and sift together the flour, salt, cream of tartar and soda.
    Add to the first mixture along with the milk.
    Beat well.
    Add vanilla and mace, then fold in egg whites (which have been stiffly beaten).
    Bake in greased and floured pan at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
