Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. unsifted cake flour
    3 Tbsp. Dutch cocoa
    2 oz. red food coloring
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix food coloring and cocoa to form paste.
    Add sugar, shortening and eggs.
    Cream thoroughly.
    Sift together flour and salt.
    Add buttermilk and vanilla.
    Mix vinegar and soda.
    Blend into batter.
