Corn Bread Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. self-rising corn meal
    1/2 c. self-rising flour
    3 Tbsp. bacon grease
    3/4 to 1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Mix flour and meal thoroughly. Add buttermilk until the mixture is thin enough to pour, like pancake batter.
    Put 1 tablespoon of the bacon grease in an iron skillet.
    Heat until hot.
    Pour in 1/4 cup batter. Brown on both sides.
    You can fry about 4 or 5 at the same time in a 10-inch skillet. Add a tablespoon of bacon grease as needed.
