Hard Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. light corn syrup
    3/4 c. water
    1 drum lorann flavoring (1 tsp.)
    food coloring
    powdered sugar
Preparation
    Mix the first 3 ingredient sin a large saucepan.
    Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
    Boil, without stirring, until temperature reaches 310\u00b0 or until drops of syrup form hard, brittle threads in cold water.
    Remove from heat.
    After boiling has ceased, stir in flavoring and coloring.
    Pour onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Cool and break into pieces.
    Dust with powdered sugar. Store in airtight containers.
    Makes 3 pounds.
