Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. flour
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (3 1/2 oz.) can coconut
    1/2 c. pecans
    5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Cream shortening and margarine.
    Add sugar and beat until smooth.
    Add egg yolks and beat well.
    Sift flour, measure and sift again with soda.
    Add flour alternately with buttermilk. Stir in vanilla, coconut and nuts.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Pour into 3 greased and floured pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
