Ingredients

2/3 c. vegetable oil (liquid)
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 to 2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
about 1/3 c. sugar in shallow bowl
Preparation

Set oven temperature to 350\u00b0.
In large bowl, combine oil and 1 cup sugar.
Add egg, beating well.
Stir in molasses, 2 cups flour, soda, cinnamon and ginger.
If necessary, add a little more flour to make firm dough.
Shape dough into 1 to 1 1/4-inch balls. Roll in the 1/3 cup sugar.
Place 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake 12 minutes or until golden brown and tops crack.
Cool on racks.
