Old-Fashioned Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 1/2 c. flour (if you use self-rising flour, leave the salt and soda off)
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream butter.
    Add sugar gradually, creaming until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, beating after each addition.
    Add vanilla, then the dry ingredients all mixed together.
    Beat well in the creamed mixture.
    Chill for 3 to 4 hours.
    Roll out on floured surface to thickness desired.
    Cut with round or shaped cookie cutters. Grease cookie sheet and place cookies on it and bake for 6 to 8 minutes at 375\u00b0.
