Ingredients

4 lb. beef brisket, well trimmed
paprika
salt
pepper
1 onion, coarsely chopped
8 Tbsp. ketchup
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. red cooking wine
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. basil
parsley
Preparation

Sprinkle paprika generously on both sides of the brisket. Brown for 30 minutes on each side at 450\u00b0.
Lower heat to 350\u00b0 and add salt, pepper and onion.
Combine remaining ingredients and pour over meat.
Cover and bake 2 hours.
