German Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium cabbage, shredded
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 grated carrot
    salt and pepper
    1 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. oil
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Salt and pepper cabbage in a large, covered dish.
    Boil cabbage for 2 minutes; drain.
    Add vinegar, sugar, oil and celery seed.
    Let stand 24 hours.
    The longer it stands, the better it tastes.
