German Potato Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 lb. red potatoes, cut in pieces
3/4 lb. bacon, fried crisp
1 c. sugar
1 heaping Tbsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 c. vinegar
1 large and 1 small onion
pimento and parsley flakes (optional)
Preparation

Fry bacon.
Pour off about half of drippings.
Allow to cool. Add sugar, cornstarch, salt and pepper to bacon grease.
Add vinegar and bring to a rolling boil until it crystallizes.
Mix potatoes and chopped onion.
Pour hot mixture over onion and potatoes.
This will cook the onions on top while you pour it on. Add pimento or parsley flakes for decoration, if desired.
