Kitty Korn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. oleo
    6 1/2 qt. unsalted popped popcorn
    2 c. dry roasted peanuts
    2 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Pour 1/2 cup melted oleo into large baking pan.
    Add popped corn and nuts.
    Combine remaining oleo, sugar, syrup, vanilla and salt in a large pot and boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
    Continue boiling 5 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in baking soda.
    Pour over corn mixture.
    Mix lightly.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 1 hour and 30 minutes (STIRRING EVERY 15 MINUTES).
    Makes about 7 quarts.
