Cherry-Pecan Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
    1 c. powdered sugar
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
    milk
Preparation
    In large bowl, cream butter or margarine, sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy.
    In a smaller bowl, stir flour, soda and salt.
    Add this to the creamed mixture alternately with the buttermilk.
    Beat all.
    Fold in nuts and cherries.
    Pour batter into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 55 to 60 minutes.
    Let stand for 10 minutes.
    Remove from pan and cool. Make glaze mixture of powdered sugar and milk to mix.
    Put over cooled loaf as glaze.
