Chili Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. boneless beef cubes, cut into 1-inch pieces
    2 Tbsp. seasoned flour
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed tomato soup
    1 soup can water
    1 bay leaf
    1 to 2 tsp. chili powder
    1/2 tsp. garlic salt
    dash of thyme
    3 medium carrots, quartered
    2 medium potatoes, quartered
    1/2 c. sliced green pepper
    1 (16 oz.) can small white onions, drained
Preparation
    Dust beef with flour; brown well on all sides in hot shortening.
    Stir in soup, water and seasonings.
    Cover and cook over low heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
    Add carrots, potatoes and green pepper.
    Cover and cook one hour longer or until beef and vegetables are tender; stir occasionally.
    Add onions and continue cooking for 5 minutes.
    This recipe makes 4 servings.
