Potato Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 Irish potatoes, size of an egg
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    5 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    salt to taste
    powdered sugar
Preparation
    Boil potatoes until soft and mash until real soft.
    Add shortening and 1 cup sugar.
    Beat eggs until light, then add 1 cup sugar,
    baking powder, nutmeg and salt to taste.
    Mix well and add enough flour to roll out and cut with doughnut cutter. Fry in deep
    fat
    at 365\u00b0 until golden brown.
    Drain on brown paper and sprinkle or roll in powdered sugar.
