Quick Cherry Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine (2 sticks)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. almond extract
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 can cherry pie filling (21 oz.)
Preparation
    In large bowl, cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs; beat until fluffy.
    Add extract.
    Stir in flour and baking powder; mix until smooth.
    Butter a 13 x 9-inch pan, turn mixture into pan.
    Spoon pie filling into the cake in 16 spots, spacing 4 spoonfuls evenly in each direction.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden brown or tests done.
    Filling will sink into cake while baking.
    Place bottom side down on serving plate, dust with powdered sugar.
    Spoon lightly sweetened whipped cream over top. This is great warm.
    Makes 16 pieces.
