Stuffed Peppers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 large green peppers
    1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 c. dry bread crumbs or cracker crumbs
    1 Tbsp. chopped onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cut thin slices from stem end of each pepper.
    Remove all seeds and membranes.
    Wash inside and outside. Heat 1 c. water and 1/2 tsp. salt to boiling.
    Add peppers and cook 5 minutes and drain.
    Mix remaining ingredients.
    Lightly stuff each pepper with 1/3 of the meat mixture.
    Stand peppers upright in ungreased 8x8x2 inch baking dish.
    Cover and bake 45 minutes.
    Uncover and bake additional 15 minutes.
    Makes 2-3 servings.
