Golden Layer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 tsp. double-action baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    1 c. milk
    2 unbeaten eggs
    1 tsp. flavoring
Preparation
    Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
    Add flavoring, shortening and 2/3 cup of the milk.
    Beat 2 minutes and add remaining 1/3 cup milk and 2 unbeaten eggs.
    Beat 2 minutes more. Pour into 2 round 8 or 9-inch pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
