Butterscotch Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 c. light brown sugar
    1 egg
    3/4 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation
    Melt shortening, blend in sugar.
    Cool.
    Stir in egg, then sifted dry ingredients.
    Add nuts and vanilla.
    Spread in a greased 8-inch pan.
    Bake for 25 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
    Do not overbake.
