Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. pecan halves, toasted
    3 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. evaporated milk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. butter
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. broken pecans
Preparation
    Toast 2 cups of pecans for 5 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
    Place 1 cup of sugar in small pot.
    Cook on low heat and stir until melted. While this is cooking, place 2 cups of sugar and milk in a large pot and cook until it is about to come to a boil.
    Pour melted sugar into milk and sugar while stirring.
    Cook to a soft boil (238\u00b0), then drop into cold water to see if it forms a firm ball. Take off the heat.
    Add salt, butter, vanilla and pecans.
    Stir until this begins to thicken.
    Drop a tablespoon at a time onto aluminum foil and let dry.
    Peel off foil and store pralines.
