Date Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 tsp. soda
1 c. hot water
1 pkg. chopped dates
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Mix soda with water; pour over dates.
Let cool.
Cream butter and sugar; add beaten eggs.
Sift dry ingredients and add.
Add nuts, date mixture and vanilla.
Bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan sprayed with Pam for 1 hour at 325\u00b0.
