Crisp Pickle Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 to 15 medium cucumbers
    4 large white onions
    1 large green pepper
    1/4 c. salt
    2 1/2 c. vinegar
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/4 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers and slice about 1/4-inch thick.
    Slice onions and dice green pepper.
    Combine vegetables and salt.
    Let stand at room temperature for 3 hours; drain.
    Combine remaining ingredients in large kettle.
    Bring to boil.
    Add drained vegetables.
    Heat thoroughly, but don't boil!
    Pack immediately into hot, sterilized jars.
    Seal at once.
