Garbanzo Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. bacon
    1 medium onion, thinly sliced
    2 lb. diced ham
    6 c. water
    2 (15 oz.) cans garbanzo beans
    3 c. diced raw potatoes (4 medium)
    1 clove garlic
Preparation
    Cook bacon until crisp.
    Set aside.
    Save 2 tablespoons of pan drippings and cook the onion in it until tender, not brown.
    Add ham, undrained beans and water.
    Simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
    Add potatoes, garlic and bacon.
    Simmer until done.
    May have to add extra water.
