Ingredients

3 bananas
1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. butter
2 eggs
1/8 tsp. salt
1/3 c. flour
3/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
vanilla wafers
Preparation

Cream sugar and butter.
Add egg yolks (slightly beaten), flour and milk.
Cook in top of double boiler until thickened. Cool.
Add vanilla flavoring and mix.
Add sliced bananas to batter.
Line bottom of dish with crushed vanilla wafers about 1/2-inch thick.
Place wafers all around sides of dish.
Pour mixture into dish and top with meringue.
