Vanilla Butter Cream Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or oleo
    1/8 tsp. salt
    3 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar (1 lb.)
    1 whole egg or 2 egg yolks (unbeaten)
    1 1/2 + Tbsp. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter until soft.
    Add salt and part of sugar gradually, blending after each addition.
    Add egg and remaining sugar alternately with vanilla and milk until of right consistency to spread.
    Makes enough for two 9-inch layers.
