Apple Crisp - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 heaping Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening
    1 egg yolk, beaten with enough milk to make 2/3 c. liquid
    6 to 8 apples, sliced thin
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 egg white
    1 c. powdered sugar
    water
Preparation
    Measure dry ingredients in bowl.
    Mix in shortening as for pie crust.
    Add egg yolk mixture.
    Mix together.
    Roll out 1/2 of dough to fit large cookie sheet.
    Top crust with apples.
    Mix sugar and cinnamon.
    Sprinkle over apples.
    Roll out other half of dough for top crust.
    Pinch edges of 2 crusts together.
    Beat egg white stiff and spread on crust with pastry brush.
    Bake 40 minutes at 400\u00b0.
    Glaze immediately after taking out of oven with powdered sugar and water.
