Tea Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    6 Tbsp. butter or margarine (cut into bits; chilled)
    1 large egg
    1/2 c. milk
    1/4 c. currants, raisins or chopped dates
Preparation
    Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl.
    Add butter bits and rub in.
    Add currants.
    Beat egg and add milk.
    Make a well in center of flour mixture; add egg/milk mixture.
    Mix until flour is incorporated.
    Turn out on floured board.
    Roll out into a 1-inch thick circle.
    (If desired, brush with lightly beaten egg white and sprinkle with coarse sugar.)
    Cut dough into 8 to 10 triangles.
    Bake on lightly greased baking sheet 15 to 20 minutes at 350\u00b0.
