Bran Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/4 to 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. wheat bran flakes cereal (I use All-Bran)
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
    1 egg, beaten
    3 c. all-purpose flour, divided
Preparation
    Combine shortening, boiling water, sugar, salt and bran in a medium mixing bowl.
    Stir until shortening is melted; cool to lukewarm.
    Dissolve yeast in warm water.
    Add to bran mixture. Add egg and beat well.
    Add 1 cup flour and beat well.
    Add remaining flour and mix well.
    Cover and place in refrigerator overnight.
    Punch dough down; divide dough into 24 pieces and shape into rolls.
    Place on greased baking sheets.
    Cover and let rise in
    a warm place (85\u00b0), free from drafts, until doubled in size.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Yield:
    2 dozen rolls.
