Banana Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/3 c. vegetable shortening
    2 eggs
    3 Tbsp. buttermilk
    1 c. mashed bananas
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped or broken nut meats (walnuts or pecans)
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar together.
    Beat in eggs, then buttermilk and mashed bananas.
    Sift flour together with baking powder, soda and salt.
    Stir into the other mixture.
    Add nuts last and stir in.
    Pour batter into well-greased loaf pan.
    Let stand for 20 minutes before baking.
    During this time, preheat the oven to 350\u00b0.
    Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until done.
    Remove to wire rack.
    Serve warm or cold.
